There have been moments in my life where I have literally felt as though I’m emotionally crawling back to that state of comfort, desiring to go back to places and people that are “comfortable” to me. The silly part though, is that we desire to go back to that zone because it’s comfortable, and while it might be comfortable, rarely is it safe or what’s best for us.
We all left the comfort zone for a reason. Remembering that reason is vital to venturing forward into the unknown, instead of backtracking to the very thing we left behind.
Being uncomfortable for a season will bring you to places of the unknown. But sometimes, the unknown turns out to be better than we ever imagined it could be.
Keep marching forward reader. You might wake up one day to find that the unknown you were so concerned about, is no longer scary. Instead, it might become your new comfort zone, but in all the right ways. This time, it’ll be safe to be yourself, you’ll be loved for who you are, and you’ll find it is well worth the stay (and the journey it took to get there).
Keep on moving forward, reader. The unknown isn’t so bad after all. =)
