Joy, Anticipation, and Reward

It’s so wonderful having something to look forward to.

Screen shot 2015-05-29 at 2.52.41 PMI’ve gone through seasons where I’ve seemingly had very little to look forward to, not because it wasn’t there, but because it was so far ahead in the future that it wasn’t tangible.

It’s wonderful to have so many things converging at once to anticipate. My heart is overwhelmed at the goodness and love of God.

He hasn’t forgotten you, reader. He’s there. He’s waiting for you. It’s easy to feel as though you’ve been forgotten when the world around you is moving at lightning speed, and yet, you feel as though you are sitting on the sidelines. Sometimes those are the places where we see God move most. Unbeknownst to us, things are changing and shifting and it’s a only a matter of time until we see the fruit of our waiting.

In the meantime, if you don’t have anything in your life that you can look forward to or anticipate, create something. Sometimes it’s as simple as planning a dinner with friends, a vacation, a shopping trip, or something else you enjoy doing. This has been key for me this last year. It has helped me see past the here and now, and learn to be excited while being patient.

There is joy to be found in waiting. There is joy in the process and there is joy in the reward.

Waiting time is never wasted time.
