This past weekend there was a lot of hate and tragedy that occurred. To be honest, I’m still processing through it all myself. At a later time, I may share more of my thoughts but for tonight only few words need to be said.
Let’s love each other as Christ Jesus loved us, reader. Instead of spreading hate, let’s love those around us, support them, and build each other up. We don’t need to agree, but we can still offer love.
1 Corinthians 13 is known as the love chapter and it’s one of my favorite passages of Scripture. You might be asking, “What is love? What does love look like?” Well, let me tell you.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:3-8
In a world where hate is becoming the new norm, let’s do our part and love others. Let’s be kind, think the best of others, not get so easily offended, and do what’s best for each other even if that means holding our tongue and keeping our judgements to ourselves. People are torn down enough by the world we live in – let’s be a part of building people back up.
