As I sit here pondering my thoughts, I can’t help but notice the aching feeling I have inside. There’s so much I wish to do in my lifetime and I don’t know where to start.
- Write a book
- Be a part of restoring girls lives who have been victims of sex trafficking
- Become a wife and mother and together with my husband, raise some of the most amazing children this world has seen (what mother doesn’t want that?)
- Foster and adopt children from within the US who need a loving home
- Change my part of the world
Not too crazy, right? Okay, so maybe this is a bit of a tall order. Can you see why a girl might feel overwhelmed?
I have found that in writing down my goals, I have become much more likely to achieve them. Years ago, I wrote a list of all of the things I wanted to do before I got married. While cleaning out my old college binders, this same list fell out and my mom started reading it. Crazy enough, everything but one item had been completed on that list. Things were on that list that I had completely forgotten about! And yet, had done.
Just writing out some of what I hope to do in my lifetime is already helping calm this anxious heart. When you feel overwhelmed, write down your thoughts. Write down your goals, hopes, and dreams. You may start accomplishing them before you even realize you are.
Write the vision down and make it plain. – Habakkuk 2:2
